Jin Air Increases Seat Capacity to Guam

Monday, December 15, 2014

Jin Air established its presence on Guam in April of 2010 serving the Seoul to Guam route, utilizing a B737-800 with a seat capacity of 183 passengers.

Now four years later, Jin Air introduced services on a bigger aircraft. On Friday, December 12, 2014, Jin Air upgauged its capacity to Guam by utilizing a B777-200 aircraft with passenger seats of up to 355, an increase of 98% seats annually.

"Jin Air is clearly contributing to making Guam a preferred destination for Korean travelers. This past year, Jin Air transported over 60,000 passengers to our island, diffusing our dependency on the Japanese traveler and enhancing the Airport's financial and operational position," stated Chuck Ada, A.B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam's (GIAA) Executive Manager. "The larger aircraft to service the Seoul/Guam route only affirms its plan to continue its operations on Guam for the long term," he continued. ‘We thank Jin Air for the great service and opportunity they create for the Airport and the island."

Korea has steadily increased its market share, making up +20% of the tourists visiting Guam.

Jin Air's upgauge of its equipment represents an increase of 54,020 additional seats annually.
